Areas and territory coverage
Why the territory is split into areas, and how to read partial or off-target areas.
Why split by area
Google Maps only returns about a hundred places per search. To cover a territory, ScrapLift therefore generates one search per area (region, department, then postal code when needed). The "Generated searches" preview shows this split before you create the extraction.
Automatic split of dense areas
When an area returns too many results, ScrapLift splits it into finer areas during the extraction. The total number of searches can therefore grow along the way: this is expected.
If an area stays too dense although the postal code is already the finest level, the extraction says so: Google truncates results there, and a few records may be missing.
Off-target searches
A search sometimes lands outside the intended area. Nothing is imported from it, and a second attempt is scheduled automatically.
